The ISPE Annual Meeting in Washington marked a new chapter for ISPE D/A/CH Women in Pharma Co-Chair Manuela Ghebreyesus. After serving for one year as Co-Chair of International Women in Pharma alongside the Chair Melody Scott, Manuela has now taken over as Chair of International Women in Pharma for the upcoming term.
For Manuela, the new role builds on her involvement with Women in Pharma both in the D/A/CH region and internationally. She has been actively engaged in the community for 4 years, helping to organize initiatives and events that bring people together and create opportunities for exchange, networking and development.
Shortly after officially stepping into her new role, Manuela presented her strategy for the coming term during the International Women in Pharma Steering Committee meeting in October. Under the theme “Collective Intelligence,” the aim is to connect the strengths more closely across the different ISPE Affiliates. Instead of every community developing ideas on its own, the focus will be on learning from each other, sharing what already works and creating new initiatives together.
The approach follows four steps: Discover, Share, Build and Advance. It starts with understanding what is already happening across Women in Pharma, moves into sharing experiences and good ideas, and then focuses on working together to develop initiatives that can be used more broadly within the community.
For ISPE D/A/CH, Manuela’s new role also creates a valuable connection between the regional and international Women in Pharma communities. Experiences and ideas from D/A/CH can become part of the international exchange, while inspiration from other Affiliates can find its way back into the regional community.
Manuela will continue her involvement as Co-Chair of ISPE D/A/CH Women in Pharma while taking on her new international responsibilities.
We congratulate Manuela on her new role and look forward to seeing where Collective Intelligence will take the international Women in Pharma community next.
