Future Leaders Days 2024 – An event full of inspiration, innovation and networking
On November 19 and 20, 2024, the ISPE Future Leaders Days 2024 took place in Ingelheim am Rhein – two intensive days dedicated to the promotion of young talent, knowledge exchange and networking. In line with the vision of the ISPE D/A/CH Emerging Leaders working group. The event, which we organized in close cooperation with Boehringer Ingelheim, was a complete success and brought together young talents and experienced managers from the pharmaceutical and life science industry.
Day 1 - A powerful start
The first day began with a warm welcome from our organization team and an inspiring keynote speech by Mike Schmelmer from Boehringer Ingelheim. It was already clear here that the participants could expect an exciting and varied program. In the subsequent keynote speeches, Dr. Claus Michelsen, Fabio Barone and Michelangelo Canzoneri guided the participants through the challenges and opportunities facing the pharmaceutical industry. From political framework conditions to the dynamic development of animal health and the possibilities of digitalization in the pharmaceutical industry – there was plenty of food for thought.
The afternoon was all about networking and learning. In two parallel tracks, participants were able to delve deeper into the topics of “Engineering & Operations” and “VR, AR, AI & Tech”. The exhibition hall offered space for intensive exchange and new contacts. The day ended with an atmospheric networking dinner, where participants and speakers were able to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Day 2 - From workshops to site visits
After a successful first day, the second day continued with exciting presentations. Among others, Philip Boehme gave insights into the future of biologics, while Andreas Schuhmacher discussed the importance of industrial reality for the pharmaceutical industry. Michael Sahnau from Microsoft also provided interesting perspectives on the potential applications of AI in the pharmaceutical industry.
In the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to take part in various workshops, including a session on Generative AI from Microsoft and negotiation training in collaboration with Takeda. In addition, highly automated packaging systems from Boehringer Ingelheim could be viewed during site visits – a highlight for many participants that impressively demonstrated what innovation and efficiency look like in practice.
A successful conclusion
The Future Leaders Days 2024 were a complete success – two days full of valuable content, inspiring discussions and new contacts. A big thank you to all the speakers, participants and partners who made this event possible. We are already looking forward to next year and are excited to see what exciting topics and innovations await us then!
